Red telephone boxes used to be a normal sight in towns and citys across the UK but in the majority cases have been removed, having been made obsolete by mobile phones. They do still exists more numerously in London, however, possibly due to tourism purposes (they've very "British" and oversees visitors like to see "British" things)
