Europe Italy Piedmont Fontana Angelica Angeliac ( Fountain ) Mask and water Angelica Fountain was designed by the sculptor from Turin. Giovanni Riva and opened October 28, 1929. The Angelica Fountain in Piazza Solferino was built according to rules and Masonic historically had been requested from the City by the grand 'Official Pietro Bajnotti in memory of their parents, and should have been placed in front of the Cathedral. Winter is a bearded figure, and frowning, leaning against a strain of the bare branches and gnarled oak tree, his hand grabs the bottle shaped like a ram, resting an eagle with one wing open. On the back is a smiling child with her hair arranged radially, and another boy offers him a large fish, while a third plays with a wreath of pine cones. The hidden meaning of the work? The Winter looks toward the east, and together with the Fall, is the Giants Jaquim and Boaz, the two supporters of the Pillars of Hercules, the guardians of the threshold that leads to infinity.
