Nightingale captured a photograph of Mr. Claude Shaper, a Cincinnati Post Correspondent and Cartoonist, entertaining members of the 110th and 111th Infantry of the 38th Division during World War One. The soldiers are shown waiting for their turn to take a bath. Mr. Shaper is known for creating the character Old Man Grumpy. The image was issued and passed by the Censor, although the date of issuance is unknown. The photograph is labeled as subject number B2.
