There is great needfor earnest, persistent and united effort on the part of all good people,that this sacred day, so essential to our national well being, and to theprosperity of the Kingdom of God, may be preserved and perpetuated. Therefore we recommend: First—That as ministers of the Gospel we seek to be Godly ex-amples to our flocks, by conscientiously observing the day ourselves. Second—That by preaching on the subject, by private instruction,and by circulating Sunday literature, we will do what we can to createa sentiment that will secure the enforcement of our Sunday laws, andthus protect our national CHURCH AT NEW ROADS METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH, SOUTH. 41 Third—That we appreciate and endorse the good work being done bythe Sunday Rest League of America.
