It wassomewhat humiliating that the Lord Justice of Ireland coulddo no more to secure his friends safety than to pay amessenger five pounds to secretly warn them of their danger ! However, the warning was in time ; the party avoided thenotice of the pirate by putting out from Beaumaris, and theyall—Lord Ranelagh, Lord Kildare, and Lord Dungarvan,with Arthur Loftus and Arthur Jones, arrived without furtheradventures in Dublin
