Subse-quently he invented a machine for sowingwheat in drills, which was used to a greatextent throughout the west. He then stud-ied medicine, and in 1847-8. attendedlectures at the Indiana Medical Collegeat Laporte, and in 1848 9 at the OhioMedical College at Cincinnati.
