Nn. l'.'-Ji;4, Body very stout and form heavy; belly large; limbs (including claws) stout, short, and thick; tail scarcely larger than body, very much thick- ened and depressed at base. Top and sides of the head covered with nearly equal subhexagonal tubercular scales, only a little smaller on the supraorbital region and cheeks. Orbits bounded inferiorly by a chain of about ten nearly eipial scales. Ear conspicuous, its anterior edge dentate. About twenty.
