An engineer uses a remote crane lift control to lift parts into place in the nacelle on a wind turbine at the Walney offshore wind farm. The holes in the base are where the electric cables will be fitted through. the farm consists of 102, MW turbines, giving a total capacity of the Walney project of MW, enough to power 320,000 homes. The rotor diameter of the turbines is 107m for Walney 1 and 120 m for Walney 2. The wind farm is owned and constructed by Dong Energy, Cumbria, UK.
