Burial of constable Don Alvaro de Luna 1858 by Eduardo Cano (1823-1897). Álvaro de Luna y Jarana (between 1388 and 1390 – 3 July? 1453); Duke of Trujillo; 1st Count of San Esteban de Gormaz; was a Spanish politician. He was a favourite of King John II of Castile; a Constable of Castile. Alvaro de Luna was beheaded in the main square of Valladolid in June 1453 and his remains now rest in the Cathedral of Toledo.
