MARCUSENIUS MACROPS, sp. of body 3 times in total length, length of head 4f rounded, projecting beyond the mouth, ^ length of head ; mouthsmall, inferior, its width J length of head ; teeth small, truncate orfeebly notched, 5 in upper jaw, 6 in lower; chin slightly swollen ;nostrils nearer eye than end of snout, on a line with lower border of eye ;eye very large, twice as long as snout, a little greater than interorbitalwidth, which is 4 times in length of head.
