THE worthy sviccessor of Bishop Bynio, who nowhas so identified himself with the pai-ish ehiu-chiu James Street, was born in Ireland, December 28,1832, and after preliminary studies at Castle Knock andat the Petit Seminaire in Cavan, passed his examinationand entered Maynooth, the great theological school ofIreland, which has given so many priests, not only tothat country but to all parts of the world. He was ordained priest at All Hallows College,near Dublin, on the 3d of July, 1854, by the MostReverend Archbishop Cullen, now Irelands first his arrival in the United States the same year, theyovmg priest was at once assigned to duty by the MostReverend Archbis
