Marco Polo Welcomed at Kublai Khan's Court


Kublai Khan (1215-1294) was a Mongol emperor and the founder of the Yuan dynasty in China. Marco Polo was a Venetian traveler who left Venice, Italy, with his father and brother in 1271, arrived in China in 1275 where Kublai Khan had his court, and returned home in 1294. This illustration shows the Polos arriving at the court of Kublai Khan and dates to 1906.
