An Ottoman gold-inlaid shamshir Circa 1820. Smooth single-edged blade of Wootz damascus with a gold-inlaid inscription cartouche on the obverse. Iron quillons and grip frame with floral (partially rubbed) gold inlays. Riveted grip scales of rhinoceros horn. Shagreen leather-covered wood scabbard with beautiful gold-inlaid iron mounts decorated en suite. The gold inlays on the locket rubbed on one side, leather with minor flaws.
