Container cranes in a harbour at dusk. This type of crane is designed to load and unload containers from ships. Containers are large, standardised boxes that can be used to transport a wide variety of cargo by ship, train and lorry. The arms of the cranes reach out over the water where ships are moored. The foreground crane has its arms in the upright (inactive) position. This is the Port of Felixstowe in Suffolk, England. It is the largest container port in the UK.
