In tlie Wabash valley it ranges as far north as Terre Haute, where Prof. O. P. .Jenkins found it. Throughout the lower Wabash valley it is probably a summer resident in some numbers. Mr. Robert Ridgway reports that he ha'i noted it breeding in Knox and Gibson Counties. It may occasionally extend its range over the entire State, having been taken in both northern Illinois and northern Ohio. Mr. Chas. Dury reports it breeding as far north as St. Mary's Reservoir in Ohio, which is probably not over twelve miles east of the Indiana line. Family Pelicans.
