Mrs. C—, a married woman, aged 52 years, consulted me in 1917 fora chronic dermatosis in the region of the right hip-joint. The affectedarea measured roughly six inches by three. Its centre was occupied bysound white scar-tissue, and surroimding the scar-tissue were numerousred papular lesions, discrete and confluent, some slightly and othersmore markedly raised above the surface of the skin. Thev were for themost part covered by slightly adherent scales and crusts. Thev werefirm but not indurated, and did not apparently infiltrate the true of the lesions had a slightly warty appearance. On removing asuperficial crust a red raw oozing surface was disclosed. There were nosubjective symptoms except some occasional soren
