Before closing this account, we regret that we haveto say that Mr. Matteson, in all other respects anupright man and a good Governor, was implicatedin a false re-issue of redeemed canal scrio, amount-ing to $224, By a suit in the Sangamon Cir-cuit Court the State recovered the principal and allthe interest excepting $27,500.
