The remains of the medieval cross which is believed to have once stood at the south end of the high street in Dunster, Somerset, is still known as the Butter Cross due to its position in the market where butter was sold. It was moved to its present position on a bank beside the Alcombe road in the 18th Century and is thought to have been damaged in the English Reformation and the 17th Century Civil War.
