RESULTS In these experiments the tissues remained in an apparently healthy condition for over 12 hours and frequently demonstrated spontaneous movements. All showed the ability to remove small amounts of labeled nutrients from the media (Tables I, II and III). This uptake was greatly affected by metabolic inhibition (Table IV).
