Inthe middle foreground are seen two fishermen, one of whomkneels to take out of the net, upheld by the other, a group offish. Beyond them is seen a group of sailors and a three-mastedhigh-poled vessel, and in the background the entrance to theharbor of Leghorn, with its fortress and another ship in thedistance. In the immediate foreground is the seated figure of abearded old man with a garland of water leaves typifying theriver Arno. This subject is Hanked by two tapering pilasters,seen in profile, with capitals of womens heads and volnted con-soles from which depend festoons of fruits and Leaves.
