The left of centre SDP was formed in 1981 by David Owen,Shirley Williams, Bill Rogers and Roy Jenkins all former Labour Party members. David Owen and David Steel of the Liberal Party. In 1983 and 1987 the SDP and the Liberal Party contested the general elections as the SDP-Liberal Alliance. Images shot on high speed colour film, hence the grain.
