The ordinary globe valve, and others that havepockets in which sediment and scale can collect, are not suitable. Anangle valve is usually very satisfactory and is regarded by many asthe type best suited to this work. The plug cock, when one is used, should be of the type that has atthe top a stuffing gland or guard which will hold the plug securely in.
