Some weeks ago, while riding over theWheeling Di\ision, I saw a passenger reachup into his hat anc^^et out the check thatthe conductor had placed there, so that hemight hand it to the conductor when hecame along. Wlien he did come along,andthe passenger had handed the check tohim, he received a courteous Thank you. The passenger seemed surprised for he toHme he had expected to get bawled am sure that he left the train with ahigher opinion of our train crews than whenhe boarded it.
