Their children were four in number: 1. William, , 3. Mary, and 4. Rachel. A. William Davis was born May 14, 1784, in BucksCounty, in all probability. He was a lad of eleven whenthe family moved to the West. As he approached man-hood, he went to live in Meadville. Mrs. J. C. Cottonwrites, Mr. John Reynolds told me that William Daviswas better educated than most of the business men ofMeadville were at that time, so that he was able to teachsome of them things they needed to know for the proper.
