Waltrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - Ship lift and lock park Waltrop. Here the disused Old Shaft Lock is now used as a pedestrian and bicycle path. Waltrop Lock Park is the name given to the four descent structures at the junction of the Rhine-Herne Canal (rear) from the Dortmund-Ems Canal. The only lift in operation is the New Lock, built between the Old Shaft Lock and the New Lift in 1989.
