Hundreds of firefighters protested in London with a march from Monument, the memorial to the Great Fire of London in 1666, to the London Fire Brigade headquarters on Union Street. They held a rally addressed by several MPs, union leaders and at the end, by comedians Jolyon Rubenstein and Heydon Prowse of TV satire programme "The Revolution Will Be Televised". The firefighters are against cuts to the service that will see reduced crews at some stations and the closure of others, which they say will endanger the lives of Londoners.
