VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Jul. 8, 2016) A student from Indonesia's Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, gives the thumbs up to his team during an in-water testing period at the 9th annual AUVSI Foundation and Office of Naval Research-sponsored International RoboBoat competition held in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Student teams design autonomous, robotic boats to navigate and race through an aquatic obstacle course. The behaviors demonstrated by these boats mimic tasks that are being developed for coastal surveillance, port security and other types of oceanographic operations.
