When they begin to vine, thin out, leav- ing only 4 of the most thrifty. As melons are very sensitive to cold, they should not be planted till the settled warm weather begins—in this latitude, about the middle of April. Large Baltimore—This is one of the best of large Cantaloupes for main crop. The flesh is thick, of a beautiful deep rich green color, and of excellent flavor. Cannon Ball—The best large cantaloupe for main crop. It is the type of melon always in demand in our markets, and for home use there is no better.
