U) HisroR Y By N. A. Nelson. HE excursion by some Chicago people of Swedishextraction to the Panama-Pacific InternationalExposition in San Francisco, was first suggestedby Mr. Edward C. Westman, with the result thaton January 19th, 1914, a meeting was held in theChicago Athletic Club by a few parties interested,for the purpose of discussing the advisability ofsuch a journey. At this meeting it was decided toarrange for the trip. Twenty-five persons wereenrolled as members. It was also decided that each member pay $ month toward a fund for the expense of the trip and that a maximumof expense be $ for each person. The following officers wereunanimously elected: City Engineer John Ericson President Charles S. Peterson Vice-President Nils A. Nelson Secretary Henry S. Henschen Treasurer Edward C.
