Satellite image of the Larsen C iceberg (centre) adrift in the Weddell Sea (right), Antarctica, on the 16th September 2017. This huge iceberg split from the Larsen C ice shelf (left) at the end of July 2017. It has an area of around 6,000 square kilometres, more than 10 percent of the area of the ice shelf. The iceberg split further soon after calving, with the main iceberg (down centre) named A-68A, and a smaller piece (top centre right) named A-68B. This natural colour image was taken by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on the Landsat 8 satellite.
