For size it is easily superior to any Violet now in cultivation, while for richness and pur- ity of color, and fragrance of its flowers, it is immeas- urably superior to all other single blue varieties. It is a single flower, and while of extraordinary size, it does not by this improvement lose any of that sweet sim- plicity peculiar to the Vio- let, but with its clearly out- lined petals, it is the embodi- ment of graceful beauty. In color it is decidedly rich— a deep pure violet blue that does not fade but remains pure to the end.
