Boy standing at Hermitage of Santa Isabel. The structure of the temple suffered the earthquakes of 1717, 1773, 1917 and 1976. Antigua, Guatemala 2019

The ruins of the Hermitage of Santa Isabel de Hungary is one of the least known of La Antigua Guatemala, however it has an interesting history. The neighbourhood where the Hermitage of Santa Isabel is located is known as Barrio de los Jaboneros, because back in the days this neighbourhood was dedicated to the manufacture of soap. In 1673 a cross was placed in front of the temple.
