St Clement Danes church, in the Strand, London. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1679,The nave and tower were finished by 1682; above the square belfry is the elegant steeple, added by James Gibbs in 1719. In front is the Gladstone Memorial of 1905, with a bronze statue of the Liberal leader by Sir William Hamo Thorneycroft.
