The Bee Boles at the Lost Gardens Of Heligan, Cornwall. Brick built hollows built to hold wicker bee skeps. Early bee hives. Wooden doors with slits at the bottom to allow entry and exit. Placed to aid pollination. The honey was harvested by the family, and the wax used as polish. Not inhabited when this image was taken because of health and safety regulations.
