University of Florida Health facility has recently opened up in the Oaks Mall in Gainesville, Florida. The UF Health occupies a vacated Sears department store space and has been almost 2 years in development. UF Health joins a growing list of health care systems nationwide that are bringing medicine to malls. Medical facilities have been one of the more successful approaches for regenerating mall spaces. Malls and medical facilities also have structural features that can be compatible, including large areas with smaller spaces in between as well as vast swaths of parking.
