Two marble steps facili-tate the descent into it, and at the bottom is a sort of cushion(pulvinus), also of marble, to enable those who bathed to sitdown. The water ran into this bath in a large stream,through a spout or lip of bronze four inches wide, placed inthe wall at the height of three feet seven inches from theedge of the basin.
