Blue sky view, north to Cumbrian Mountains, old anchor by seats and stone sea wall, Princess Way, Anchorsholme, Fylde Coast, UK

An Old Anchor, testimony to the many shipwrecks over the ages along the Fylde Coast, in a seating area along Princess Way, at Anchorsholme, south of the boundary with Cleveleys (background of shot). The wall protects the houses from flooding by storm waves splashing over the promenade left of shot. The Riverdance Ferry was wrecked near this location in January 2008., when Princess Way, a base for the salvage contractors, was closed to both traffic and pedestrians, the latter viewing the salvage operation from behind the wall in the shot.
