Bradbury Central School, Hale, Cheshire - 1970s blazer badge

The blue eagle was the badge of the now closed Bradbury Central, later Bradbury Boys School in Hale, Cheshire. It was sometimes accompanied with the moto SurSum or later the letters BCS and BBS. The badge was worn on a distinctive very dark navy blazer with sky blue braiding on the collar, lapels and cuffs or a plain blazer with white or blue shirt and a navy and silver striped tie. Prior to 1965 girls at the school wore a dark navy or black gymslip dress with white socks, white shirt and silver and navy tie. They also wore a dark felt brimmed hat in winter with a silver and navy hat band and a straw (boater style) hat in summer with a similar band.
