Radiation hazard warning sign in the assembly area of Amertec II technetium-99m generators at Amersham International. The generators are used as sources of radioactive tracers for gamma ray scintigraphy in hospital nuclear medicine departments. Such safety signs are used to emphasise routine safety precautions and increase awareness. The exposure to radioactivity behind this door, at 15 millirads per hour, is higher than in other parts of the assembly plant.
