Pink-footed Geese (Anser brachyrhynchus). Grazing preferred length of grass sward. Different species of goose have bills of different length and tend to choose grasses of a length from which they can feed most efficiently. By so doing they reduce and avoid the competition from other goose species with which they may be associating and where they may congregate to feed in flocks.
