CANAL (June 29, 2016) Fire Controlman 2nd Class Ariana Friedrichs, right, and Information Systems Technician 3rd Class Phillip Aradanas man a .50-caliber machine gun while transiting the Suez Canal aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87). Mason, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is supporting maritime security operations and theater security operations in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
