A very abundant summer resident, breeding in marshes or clover fields throughout its range. Arrives about the middle of March, departs about the middle of Mea<lowlark. Gems STURNELLA. (501) Meadowlark. (Sturnella magna.) A common summer resident in southern Ontario, gradually extend- ing its range northward as the land is cleared. Breeds on the ground in meadows throughout its range. Arrives towards the end of March, departs late in October or early in November. 1*9.
