The church at the Monastry of Arkadi, dedicated to the Transfigeration of Christ and St Constantine and St Helen. it dates from 1587. It replaced a smaller church on the same site. Its architecture is heavilly influenced by Renaissance art. At the time it was built Crete was a colony of the City State of Venice.
