This splendid selection of Mangel Wurzel is very distinct from and far superior to all others in cultivation, being remarkable for its gigantic appearance, wide shoulder, beautiful shape and the enormous weight it produces per acre. It possesses extraordinary feed- ing qualities, is very free from fibrous roots and readily cleaned for storing. New seed, tested for purity and germination, i lb. 10c, h lb. 20c, lb. 30c, postpaid 35c RAPE OR COLE. (Per acre 3 to 4 lbs. In drills, 4 to 6 lbs. broadcast). Culture.—Rape should be sown broadcast or in drills two feet apart, from June until the middle of September, and forms an excellent green fodder for sheep in autumn or early winter. It is also used extensively lor ploughing under to enrich the land. Dwarf Essex.—Best broad-leaved variety. It has been estimated that an acre of Dwarf Essex Rape, when not pre- ceded by any other crop the same season, will feed from thirty-five to forty lambs for two months, and that the gain .in flesh per month will be from eight to twelve and one-half pounds on each lamb. Young cattle thrive on it as well as swine.
