The Monmouth County September 11 Memorial is comprised of a timeline walkway depicting the main exvents of that fateful morning, a stone base etched with the name, age and hometown of each victim from the county and a stone eagle shown flying with a beam from one of the fallen towers. 147 Monmouth County residents died in the terrorist attack. Built on the Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook ("the highest point on the Atlantic Coast") which overlooks Sandy Hook and New York Harbor.
