Editorial use only Food and Safety Administration (FDA) folder containing the New Drug Application (NDA) for the antibacterial drug sulfapyridine. Since the 1938 Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act all new drugs in the USA have to have been the subject of an approved NDA before commercialisation. Sulfapyridine was approved, for prescription use only, in March 1939.
