October, 15th, 2013, New York, NY, USA : Bianca Jagger speaks out against protesters some wearing traditional dress demonstrated outside the United States courthouse near Foley Square in lower Manhattan. A court in Ecuador has made a judgment against Chevron for $18 billion. Chevron lawyers today in this courthouse are trying to persuade a judge that Ecuadorean's have used bribery to win the settlemant. The protesters want to bring to the public's attention the contamination between 1964 and 1992 with billions of gallons of waste being dumped in their country because of Chevron. The protesters wore blackened hands to signify oil pollution, they carried posters of people affected by the pollution, as well as bottles the color of their drinking water. They were also joined by Bianca Jagger the ex wife of Rolling Stons's Mick Jagger who was there to lend her name and voice her support for the demonstration.
