He has received a nice lot of carnations and lily of the valley from A. N. Pierson, Cromwell, Conn. A. Gude & Bros, have a fine stock of lilies, azaleas, hydrangeas and other seasonable plants, which with their large stock of cut flowers make a fine showing. J. H. Small & Sons are making active preparations for the Easter trade. Their greenhouses show a fine stock of lilies and other plants. Alex. B. Garden has a fine display of lilies, hydrangeas. Crimson Rambler roses and spiraas. Clark Bros, have a house of Carnot roses just in for Easter, that are in fine condition. S. E. Boston. MARKET GOOD. From present indications there will be a plentiful supply of Easter stock. Lil- ies are in excellent condition and are more plentiful than in former years. Roses of all varieties are being handled in large quantities, and there is a large demand for carnations. Violets are plen- tiful but sweet peas are rather scarce. Bulbous stock is in good supply and de- mand. The past week has been a good one for the retailers, many funerals oc- curring which used a large amount of stock. NOTES. The death here of E. C. Swift, of Chi- cago, called for large orders of floral tributes. Many of the packing houses here sent wreaths, and the majority of the orders were handled by Thos. F. Galvin. Wm.
