Spain, Madrid. Galapagos Fountain or Isabel II Fountain. Inaugurated in 1832. Work by the architect Francisco Javier de Mariátegui (1755-1844). Carved by the sculptor José Tomás (1790-1848) and the bronze artist Eugenio Alonso. It was commissioned by King Ferdinand VII to commemorate the first anniversary of the birth of the Princess of Asturias (future Queen Isabella II). Glorieta de Nicaragua (Roundabout of Nicaragua).
