Many boats tied up at the shore of a lake inside the Periyar wildlife sanctuary. This was in the morning, when we had all gone there for a trip on the lake (the best way to see wild elephants on the gentle slopes of the hill nearby) and these boats were tied up there, waiting for tourists. All of these boats have a number of seats inside so that tourists can view the wildlife outside. Some of these boats are open boats, where there is no outside covering, as can be seen in this photo.
